Dear All,
I'm recurring guest every time and I feel like doing to convert from my Plus4 Tape some porgrams for the PC emulators.
What requirements are necessary to convert a program from tape to PC?
Anyone can help how can I start?

and TapWAV is a utility that converts TAP files into audio files (WAV format) that can be directly recorded to tapes with an audio recorder plugged to the soundcard output line or burned to an audio CD for later transfer to tapes by means of a Hi-Fi system. No specific hardware is needed for this conversion.

A tape deck or walkman first? I suppose cable also to connect to your mic input
To be more serious:
Basically it works in the same way as the Spectrums. You connect an external Cassette player to your PC sound card, record the tape content as WAV file (signal level is important, but you can adjust it), then specific programs able to create out of that a TAP file compatible with the emus.

some of them are DOS program, you may also need a DOSBOX to able to run under XP or Vista environment.

I think you just want to load tapes into the PC, don't you?
If you don't have a dedicated interface for a datasette an old mono tape recorder connected to the soundcard will do (probably better than a stereo tape deck).

Dear Gurus!
I've tried this converting but I need some support. I write the steps what I did:
1 - I have cable with 2 Jacks. The first is out from my old Tape (from headphones) and the second part of this cable is going in my notebook LineIn [Mac OSX ]
2 - I followed the instructions of

and recorded the program ("Her Turbo")
3 - The signal is not amplified, Mono, 44100Hz, 16bit, using Audacity program (I used this on PC too, really comfortable and reliable)
4 - Save it in WAV format
And now is my problem. I've tried with and without Filters (Noise Reduction, Normalize, Amplify, etc.) and tried to Loading in Yape, Tape - Attach Tape - select the target WAV file.
But nothing happens, only 'Break Error', because it is not found the header (I think) of the program and could not load it.
Anyone has experience in this?
Or anyone have this Her Turbo program?
I asking because I have lot of cassettes and all of them are recorded by Her Turbo. I'm affraid that if I would like to load a game from my any tape it is necessary to load this Her Turbo first. It is right or not?
If Yes: any Turbo softwares what are made for C16 or C+4 is working with a compression? I mean that program what are copied with any Turbo is necessary to Load with that Turbo?

Hmmm.... try this in this order:
1) high pass filter~100 Hz
2) low pass filter ~5000 Hz
3) Amplify with clipping (probably most important)
Unfortunately HER TURBO is rather picky Just like back in the old days. I just digitized a tape of mine with an old walkman (!). Now that's almost hopeless. But I could recover a lot of programs including HER TURBO itself
You can send me the WAV if you wish and I'll have a look (írhatsz magyarul  ).
Incidentally, I am playing with the idea of writing a WAV2TAP converter in VB .NET. Heck, not even the C64'ers have a proper one!

Oh, I'm trying with 'Amplify with clipping', because I did not select it at the converting process
...
This is a part of a big project, because as I see the 'Időlabirintus' game is not included in the Game section and I have this game on Tape I would like to convert it and share it here.
First, I'll record the whole side of my tape and cut it out with a Wave editor and send it to you to check

have you start this project ? ................ i have bougt a Q-Sonic Tapeplayer http://www.focus.de/digital/multimedia/q-sonic-digicube-der-kassettenschlucker_did_24403.html?special=12001 and use the Audacity program to covert my old Audio Tapes in .mp3. My idea is to record my big c16 & plus/4 colection as .wav and convert them all to .tap.
